Description

Doghouse Abingdon by Chef and Brewer Collection. The Doghouse Hotel Abingdon located not far from Oxford started its life as a smallholding in the early eighteenth century. It only became an inn as recently as 1847 and earned its name as a place Oxford students would send their dogs when they were prohibited from keeping them at college or as the kennels for local hunting parties.Today it is a pleasant country hotel surrounded by beautiful Oxfordshire countryside. It offers a traditional bar and restaurant with original wood-beams a roaring fire and a quiet patio serving food and a range of drinks. This is complemented by 20 comfortable en-suite bedrooms each one featuring a television tea and coffee-making facilities and free Wi-Fi. Just a few minutes away from Oxford and Abingdon the hotel is the perfect base from which to explore this beautiful part of the country.
