Borovets is located and just 70 km away from Sofia, therefore easily accessible by car or by plane. Borovets is the oldest winter resort of the country, with a history going back to 1896. Nowadays it is one of the largest and most modern Bulgarian winter resorts and the oldest of the ski centres in the country. The nearest town is Samokov (8 km from the resort), where you can stroll in the pedestrian center of town.
