The bustling seaside town of Ulverstone at the mouth of the Leven River is a laid-back getaway with abundant birdlife, family friendly swimming beaches, coastal paths and scenic picnic spots. Panoramic views of the town can be seen from the quirky zigzag gardens in Maud Street, and river cruises head 7 km upstream for lunch on the riverbank.
