Fairy Knowe Hotel

The hotel is a birders paradise with over 280 species to be found here, of which the Knysna Loerie is a regular visitor. Uncomplicated and old worldly, the hotel offers basic, clean accommodation with breath-taking river views. The ‘value for money’ room rates include a plated English breakfast in the hotels’ main building between 07:00 – 10:00 daily. The old dame is beloved throughout South Africa as she was the honeymoon destination of choice in her heyday. With history dating back as far as 1874 you can only imagine the splendour of days gone by. Situated on the banks of the Touw River, the hotel forms part of the greater Wilderness Nature Reserve and Estuary. Wilderness is one of only five documented areas in the world that has, within a five kilometer radius, sea, land, rivers, lakes and mountain ranges.
